Be quiet, be still and just listen

An active calming exercise that's the easiest by far.

If you are doing it right and only listening to everything around you won't be thinking anxiously as you will truly be listening with your ears and not thinking with your mind.

When you focus on hearing only you won't be thinking. The brain/mind can't do both successfully.

Input which could be translated as listening and Output could be thinking, our thoughts.

Close your eyes and try to just listen to the sounds around you.  I repeat, listen and hear only.

It's cool that thoughts seem suspended momentarily if you are only focusing on hearing all the sounds around you.

Take a break from thinking if your stressing out from your thoughts and just hear and listen to quiet the mind.

Another magnificent way to calm is to pray from the heart and give thanks, when you need peace, assurance and direction immediately. 

I believe with all my heart I am spending time with God in prayer. I am grateful indeed, the stars and galaxy alone! God is truly glorious.
